Nottinghamshire Trading Standards have received reports of a rogue trader in the Hucknall area, cold calling and offering residents a free orthopaedic mattress.

The trader is getting residents to sign paperwork and provide their email address to accept the mattress and is then saying that there is a charge of £250.00.

High pressure tactics are being used to try to obtain payments.

Trading Standards advise to never buy goods from anyone who cold calls at your door. If you do not know the person do not answer your door, say ‘NO’ and call the police if they will not leave.

Any genuine callers will be happy to wait while you verify who they are before you speak to them.
